Freesias
Freesia: a new arrival from South Africa
Despite the current popularity of beautiful Fragrant freesias, they are, in contrast with Roses, carnations and Chrysanthemums, a very recent addition to the florist industry.
The name Freesia refers to a German Physician Friedrich Freese who documented this flower in the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa – literally, these flowers are “Freese’s”. Another popular flower from the Eastern Cape Province is the Protea.
Nowadays, freesias are often associated with friendship and trust, making them a great gift for any occasion. The scent of a Freesia is lovely and after a few hours the whole room radiates this wonderful aroma.
At Blossom and Twigs we have several fantastic Freesia Bouquets with plenty of stems to comfortably fill the optional vase. Explore our great selection, make your choice and send the gift of friendship with a lovely Freesia bunch!
