Roses mean ... Everything

The meaning of Roses is known to most and that’s why it is the most sent flower on Valentines day. But the symbolism of the rose also depends on the colour, the number of roses you give, and the type of roses.

Colours of Roses

For most people a Red Rose represents Immortal love and Passion. But in the religious symbolism a Red Rose also mean Sacrifice. Our red Roses are so reasonably priced that we object to the meaning sacrifice: For us it represents beauty, Love and Passion!

The French word for Pink is Rose (from the Latin word Rosa) which makes the Pink Rose feel like the classic original rose! A Pink Rose also represents love and romance but in a more innocent and pure way. Pink Roses are often used in playful softly designed bunches. Some people say the Pink Rose represents First Love rather then mature Love.

For Mature Love the Yellow Rose is also used regularly, but since the yellow flower also express Joy Happiness and Fun, the Yellow Rose is also used for this purpose. The Yellow Rose has another meaning, mainly in the US: Protection against envious lovers…but we don’t know whether it protects the recipient, or the giver!

A few shades lighter and we are at the Creamy Ivory White Roses. White Roses are the perfect gift when you want to tell the recipient that she, or he, has a secret admirer, but mostly the White rose is used to express Purity. That is why it is used for new mothers who bore the brunt of delivering a perfectly innocent new baby to this world. For the same reason the White Rose is probably used as sympathy flowers since death, however sad, is a return to purity.

So how many Roses do I give?

Well, that depends on what you want to say! And note that these numbers are more or less independent of colour, but the colour will emphasize the message.

1 Rose
One single Rose means either “Love at First Sight”" or I still love you". Whether you and your loved one are together for a few hours or many years: a single rose does the job. To make it more perfect Blossom and Twigs sends the rose without thorns: another sign of Dedication and Love!

2 Roses
When you give someone two roses you message mutual love and affection, it could be a perfect answer to a “First date” Single Rose.

3 Roses
Three Roses are standing for a trinity: you, your partner and the shared Love. In the old days, a man would give 3 roses to his new wife at the one month wedding anniversary.

6 Roses
Six Roses stand for having a Crush or a distant love, it’s a subtle hint which can be safely ignored when its not mutual.

9 Roses
Send nine roses to symbolise eternity: We will be together to the end of days.

10 Roses
The number 10 stands for perfection, but a bouquet of 10 roses stands for perfect love.

12 Roses
A dozen roses says "I’ll be yours; Be mine!". It’s basically screaming from the rooftops, not subtle, very clear! Wanna shout louder? Try 2 dozen Roses!

13 Roses
A bunch of thirteen roses stands for eternal Friendship. Great that even good friendship has a “Rose-code”.

15 Roses
An arrangement of 15 roses is the perfect apology. Do you feel sorry, regret something you said or did? I doesn’t matter how long ago the event was, fifteen roses will send a clear message!

20 Roses
Twenty roses, 2 times “perfect”, tell a message that your feelings for the recipient are real and sincere. I’m sure 20 roses will impress and tell more then that!

21 Roses
When you send Twenty-one roses to someone you actually say that you are dedicated to the recipient.

24 Roses
One dozen is perfect to shout I’m yours, two dozen Roses shouts "Be MINE; I'm really yours!"

25 Roses
Most numbers were about Love and Friendship but Twenty-five Roses simply means “congratulations “ in a beautiful way.

36 Roses
When one dozen Roses and two dozen Roses was shouting I’m yours, what about three dozen then? Scream? No, 3 dozen Roses says, "I'm head over heels in love!”

A big bunch of Forty roses says, "my love for you is real, genuine and unique". And believe us: 40 Roses is a darn impressive bunch!

A hundred roses is about the max we can put in a big vase and it surely will impress someone: it will convey the perfection perfectly. In numerology the statement “I love beauty wisdom” equals 100….

When money is no object and you really want to impress you infatuation beyond believe: send 1001 Roses, like saying: “I’ll be with you a 1000 nights and one more” This is so special that blossom and Twigs will send you the 1001 roses with a personal florist who will make sure all the 1001 roses are displayed to full perfection.

More Rose Knowledge

People born under the Libra sign (23/9-22/10) are known to surround themselves with beautiful things and they seem to have a feeling for what represents intense Beauty. That must be the reason why the Rose is the flower for this zodiac sign!

Finally The Latin term “sub rosa”  means “under the rose”  which denotes in Latin, as well as in English, Secrecy. The Romans, and later the Hungarians, hung a Rose from the ceiling of a meeting room and therefore everything said in the room could not be repeated outside the room to people who were not under this pledge. Nowadays this term is used by MI6 and the CIA to express “covert operations”…but don’t tell them we told you!

Now, Choose your Rose, the number of roses, the symbol you want to express, and shoot it to someone. Everybody appreciates a Rose!
