The Colours of Flowers

The vibrant colours of flowers immediately draw people in to a bouquet or hand tied bunch, but there is much more to colours than that first impression. Flowers have a language of their own, and the colours of flowers are draped with deep meaning, encouraging the interpretation of a multitude of messages.

Most flowers have some green, but wholly Green flowers are representative of balanced nature. They convey the feeling of good health and being young. Green roses and green hydrangea’s can be found in the selection available with blossom and Twigs.

Traditional red roses tell a story of true love and passion, but be careful - deep red or crimson roses are said to represent commitment!

The varied shades of pinks are also full of varied meaning. Dark pink roses are the perfect way of saying thank you, softer, pale pink roses communicate the gentle nature of the sender, whilst light pink roses are said to represent fun.

Why not go a bit darker? A wonderful way to suggest attraction and majesty is by sending royal purple Freesias or roses, stunning flowers with an intimate message.

Orange flowers, particularly popular in autumn and spring, convey enthusiasm for a new project or can speak of your appreciation for the fiery, enthusiastic character of the recipient.

Yellow flowers such as yellow roses or yellow chrysanthemums are said to represent friendship and freedom, a calming, positive message for your loved one.

White roses are imbued with a message of innocence and truth and are often used as sympathy or new baby flowers. Of course, white is such a universal colour, that we think they’re a great gift for any occasion! Other white flowers tell a story of luxury, elegance and innocence.
